These tips are based on their own experiences and challenges that they faced along the way. They also explain how these tips can apply to any plumbing business, regardless of the size, location, or niche.

So, if you’re ready to learn from the best and grow your plumbing business into a multi-million dollar empire, keep reading!

Here are 3 tried and true tips for growing your plumbing business…

Chase Discomfort

One of the first tips that Matt and Sarah share is to chase discomfort.

What does that mean? It means that you have to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the challenges and opportunities that come your way. Be willing to learn new things, try new strategies, and experiment with new ideas.

Even if it feels scary or uncomfortable at first.

Comfort may feel cozy, BUT it’s also the breeding ground for complacency. And complacency is the enemy of success.

Accept that there are things that are going to sound foreign to you. As a master plumber who started his own plumbing business, it’s very likely that, like us, you come from a blue collar background and don’t have much knowledge when it comes to business.

So, it’s important that you start this journey with an open mind that’s ready to learn new things. It’ll be scary at first, but the feeling of discomfort is only a sign of you growing. So chase that feeling, and continue to learn and grow as you go.

Matt and Sarah were able to grow their plumbing business from a one-man-band into a multi-million dollar empire. They were able to expand their services, increase their customer base, and hire more employees. They were also able to achieve their personal and professional goals, such as buying their dream home, traveling the world, and giving back to their community.

So, step out of your cozy comfort zone and into the realm of the uncomfortable.

It’s where the real growth, the real enthusiasm, and the real plumbing business magic happens.

Charge More

This tip may sound counterintuitive, because you probably think that charging more will drive away your customers and reduce your sales. BUT, it’s the exact opposite.

Because when you charge more, your customers view you as professionals who know their worth and are confident in their plumbing services.

It sounds scary, because a lot of us coming from a blue collar background view money as a bad thing to possess. But that’s not true! It’s the love of money that corrupts, while money itself allows you to not only offer your family a better life, but to create job opportunities for others so that they in turn could create better lives for themselves and their families.

So really, when you charge for profit, you’re not being a greedy plumbing business owner; you’re being a fair one. Because without cash flow, how are you gonna offer benefits for your employees?

Because when you charge for profit, you’re…

  • Securing a better future for your family
  • Creating stable jobs for your employees
  • Able to give back to your community

So, if you want to grow your plumbing business, you have to charge more and overcome your limiting beliefs and fears about money.

Instead, start viewing money as a tool that can help you and others. Because it is!

Understand that charging for profit is fair, and that you deserve to be compensated for the value that you provide and the results that you deliver.

Remember, charging more is a sign of confidence, and confidence is the key to your plumbing business success.

Change Your Mindset

The third and final tip that Matt and Sarah share is to change your mindset. This is perhaps the most important tip of all, because your mindset determines your actions, and your actions determine your results.

To grow your plumbing business, you need to adopt a growth mindset. Instead of being stuck in your old ways about everything…

  • Be open to discovering and learning new things every day.
  • Educate yourself about new systems and techniques as they come up.
  • Invest your time in healthy habits.

These things can nurture your mind and lead to you being a better entrepreneur and CEO to your plumbing business.

Choose a positive mindset, and grow for the sake of yourself AND your plumbing business!

And there you have it; the 3 tips that helped Matt & Sarah Delnay grow from a one-man-band into a multi-million dollar plumbing empire. And let us just say that, if they can do it, you can do it.

So, what are you waiting for? Start applying these tips today, and watch as your plumbing business booms!
